5. Weight Loss
Millions of American adults are looking to lose weight and most of them want to lose it fast. For some individuals with high blood sugar, weight loss just occurs, which is not a good sign. This could be an overlooked sign because generally if you are overweight, you are more likely to need to lose weight and are more likely to have high blood sugar. When the weight comes off, you might think it is due to the weight finally dropping, when actually there is something wrong inside your body. Monitor your weight loss if you are attempting to drop a few pounds and the rule of thumb in weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. Any more weight loss than this and that is unexplained is considered abnormal.
